Hi, we all know that cards graded by PSA go for considerably more than every other grading service with the possible exception of Beckett. Why?? Oh, they grade more accurately , Hardly true as I will try to demonstrate a bit later. So, they grade your cards and return them so much quicker. Some folks wait almost a year to get their cards returned. PSA are just nicer people, right. Yea, that’s why they charge you based on the assessed value of your cards – they want to be your partner so they can help you. Really?? No, they are the # 1 grading service because we the buyers or sellers make them so. It’s all about the money. And they know it. PSA engages in two types of conflict of interest -1) they sell the same cards they grade .Whose cards are they selling theirs or yours? 2) the higher they grade your cards, the more they charge you – nice! It’s in their best interest to grade cards higher for people who send them hundreds of cards at a time as opposed to those who send one or two every so often. They could care less about the latter. Well, what can be done to level the playing field? It aint difficult to figure out.It’s harder to execute. Just don’t buy PSA graded cards and don’t send your cards to PSA to grade !!!! If thousands of us do this for 6 to 8 months, watch the change that would take place. Now, I have researched about 20 grading services and only ONE neither sells cards nor charges based on value – GMA . Poor GMA – they are probably the least used grading service because their cards bring back the poorest return. If we provided them the same volume of work as gets PSA, we put the other grading services on notice – change your business protocols or suffer the consequences. But, as always, money gets in the way. I have never sent a card to be graded and I probably never will. I’m from the old school.I had to grade my cards back in the 80’s and 90’s . It’s not hard to do,really. You know what bothers me most about these grading services – they’re arrogance and the fact that they believe we are too greedy to shove that arrogance down their collective throats.Think on it.Please take a look at the following cards in this listing : PSA 78 Topps Yount 173 EX 5 ( BOTH) ;PSA 67 Topps Grantham 93 EX-MT 6; all 4 of the 88 Fleer Stickers graded 6 EX-MT ;PSA 81Fleer Ryan 57 EX-MT 6; PSA 85 Topps Sticker Ryan 58 EX-MT 6; PSA 79 Topps Ryan 417 EX-MT 6; and PSA 78 Topps Ryan # 6 EX-M7 6.
